The Slovak Game Developers Association has released an updated version of the catalog dedicated to the Slovak gaming industry for 2021. The material contains detailed statistics on the economy, demographics and various other quantitative indicators of the domestic gaming industry. The catalog also contains a comprehensive list of active companies, outsourcers, currently developing projects or information about schools, educational initiatives and events related to games.
The Slovak gaming industry was not stopped by the pandemic, and it grew significantly again in 2020. According to statistics from the Slovak Game Developers Association, the turnover of this segment of the domestic economy exceeded 2019 by 29%. 870 professionals worked in the gaming industry, 26 games were released, and 52% of all companies were located in the Bratislava region.
Among the company profiles, in addition to numerous indie creators and smaller studios, there are also the largest gaming companies in Slovakia, such as Pixel Federation, PowerPlay Studio, Inlogic Software, Blue Brain Games, Nine Rocks Games or Games Farm. There are also global outsourcing companies such as Superscale, Studio 727, Cassa Game Industry or Noise Artillery.
