I applied to Nexteria in February, still hoping to make it to the next round of selection, when suddenly I got an email notification that I had won a mentoring session with Matej Ftáčnik, which I had no idea was even possible. I gladly accepted the offer, but honestly, for a long time I didn't know what to expect from the meeting.
Matej heard a little about who I am and what I do. Together we discussed what I do and what I can do to move forward in it. We came to the conclusion that the biggest enemy is the fear of making mistakes and comparing yourself.
I thought I would be the one asking a lot of questions, but it was the other way around and I got a lot of thought-provoking questions.
Thanks to this mentoring, I became more aware of how irrational thoughts can bind us, and that when we stop solving problems for others and taking responsibility for strangers, it can be incredibly liberating.
I left the meeting very motivated, and that day I forced myself to do things that I had long doubted.
I am very grateful to have been given this opportunity and I would definitely recommend everyone not to be afraid to face challenges, because only thanks to them we grow as people, just like I learned from Matej :)
